OKAY I KNOW IT’S SUMMER, BUT BEAR WITH ME. I enjoy hot beverages all year round, I love chocolate, and my air conditioning is absolutely cranking out the chilliest air (it’s 38°C with the humidex, what even is that?). But for me, hot chocolate mix is usually too sweet, plus it’s full of a whole bunch of stuff I just don’t need to be consuming when I could be making it myself. The only equipment you’re going to need is a microwave – TRUST. Click through to follow along! Continue reading “Homemade Hot Chocolate”

So for some reason, I managed to go some time without eating pasta. Which is weird for me, considering that at least 50% of my body is pasta. Have I mentioned I love pasta? I’ve got to admit, I’m not always the most faithful meal prepper. Despite having the best intentions, I really struggle to a) get food prepped ahead of time (especially when my bed and my PJs are calling my name…) and b) to eat the same thing all week long. BUT with a busy schedule like mine, I have to find time to get it done. This is a quick, satisfying meal that I cooked in less than 30 minutes (save for the marinade!). Click through to read more! So I’m going to be real. I had another post lined up, but then I realized that I had already recently posted black bean brownies. I swear to you, lately, if my head weren’t firmly attached to my neck, I would misplace it! So instead, I come to you bearing one of my go-to meals: Kitchen Sink Burritos! This is the meal that comes out of a need to clean leftovers out of the fridge, but it is always good. Although completely customizable, click on through to follow how I made my burrito for this leftovers night! Continue reading “Kitchen Sink Burritos”

Chocolate Chip Cookies – REVIEW

Sooooooo unless you’ve got more background and/or time than I do, you’re probably with me when I say that baking tends to be one of those things that I defer to the experts for. Baking is different from cooking in that there are mistakes that you just can’t fix, because by the time you know what went wrong, it’s already too late. So when I wanted soft, cafe-style cookies, I took to Pinterest to find the best dang chocolate chip cookie recipe I could find.

Enter Host The Toast. Thank you for your beautiful cookie recipe. Click on through for my take! Continue reading “Chocolate Chip Cookies – REVIEW”
