So for some reason, I managed to go some time without eating pasta. Which is weird for me, considering that at least 50% of my body is pasta. Have I mentioned I love pasta? In the spirit of meal prep this week, I decided to bring back one of my favourite foods (PASTA.) with some smokey sausage, crisp veggies, and a silky rose sauce that I have been dying for all week. I’ve got to admit, I’m not always the most faithful meal prepper. Despite having the best intentions, I really struggle to a) get food prepped ahead of time (especially when my bed and my PJs are calling my name…) and b) to eat the same thing all week long. BUT with a busy schedule like mine, I have to find time to get it done. This is a quick, satisfying meal that I cooked in less than 30 minutes (save for the marinade!). Click through to read more! Well, I just kept seeing this recipe floating around Facebook and Pinterest and had to give it a shot!

I love pad thai, I frequently crave it. But something that tasty can’t be healthy can it? Who knows, but ordering out all the time hurts the wallet, so here’s my version! 🙂

This is the delicious sequel to the German spaetzle that we posted two weeks ago! Today we’re going to make the sauce – a quick beef stroganoff. This stuff is soul food to me – I grew up eating my mom’s slow cooker stroganoff, and it’s still a treat to this day. I was craving it, but didn’t have time to put it in the slow cooker for 8 hours, so I decided to come up with this recipe! It takes less than an hour, and you end up with a rich and flavourful pot of glorious. Click on through for more!

So this is actually going to be a part one of two blog post. Today we’re going to focus on the “noodles” – a post that would make my Oma and Opa proud. So spaetzle – say it with me, “SCHPETS-luh” – is a German dumpling. A tiny, delicious German dumpling. Now normally these would be served a little differently – say, fried in butter and topped with a thin gravy (which is HEAVEN). BUT, I thought to myself, these are kind of like noodles, and I have some quick stroganoff on the stove…WHY NOT PUT THEM TOGETHER? Click on through to learn how to make these delicious, EASY little dumplings!

So this is another one of those meals where you get home after a long day, and you have no idea what you want to eat. What you do know is that you’re feeling lazy as eff and you want to put minimal effort into getting tasty food into your facehole. Instead of picking up some fast food or ordering in some take-out, follow me on through for this super simple and filling meal. Continue reading “Smoked Sausage and Spinach Pasta”
I love me some noodles; rice noodles, angel hair pasta, orzo, egg noodles, udon noodles – you name it, I have it in my cupboard. They are so versatile and more importantly, they are the reason I survived undergrad… 🙂
There is also no wrong time for noodles, and no wrong way for noodles. And some days, there is nothing quite as comforting as a big bowl of penne covered in tomato sauce and cheese. Simplicity at it’s finest and most decadent. Alas, some days, a girl needs a change. Some days, life calls for a spicy, salty, and savoury change. This Beef Thai Noodle dish will surely satisfy those cravings!

I’ve been trying to behave myself lately (read: I have been trying to eat less than my weight in pasta every day). But I LOVE pasta. Like, with a fervor that knows no bounds. There’s something so comforting and delicious about a big bowl of pasta and meat sauce. BUT, like I said, behaving. So here is my alternative offering: zoodles (zucchini noodles) and meat sauce that is packed with veggies. Click on through to follow me on this delicious adventure.
