Sooooooo unless you’ve got more background and/or time than I do, you’re probably with me when I say that baking tends to be one of those things that I defer to the experts for. Baking is different from cooking in that there are mistakes that you just can’t fix, because by the time you know what went wrong, it’s already too late. So when I wanted soft, cafe-style cookies, I took to Pinterest to find the best dang chocolate chip cookie recipe I could find.

I’ve had a serious, serious desire for brownies lately. After making a batch on the weekend, my sweet tooth kicked in and I just needed them. Of course, I figured there had to be a way to make them a little healthier for me… Enter the mighty, but humble, black bean. The brownies are chocolatey and have that dense, fudgey texture that I’m obsessed with in brownies, but there’s no remorse when you eat five of them. This is probably one of the easiest recipes I have ever posted, so click on through to follow along.

So Valentines Day is fast approaching, and what could be better for your sweetheart than something sweet? My sister and I recently came across this recipe from Chatelaine Magazine – Donna Hay’s salted caramel chocolate brownie. It’s not so much a brownie as a blondie – hence the rename – but MAN is it easy. We almost always bake with fruit (pie is our jam, ZING, FRUIT JOKE) but this one caught our eye. And it’s super easy to throw together! Click through to follow making this recipe, and our thoughts! Continue reading “Salted Caramel Chocolate Blondies – REVIEW”

So as I am told, these are very bizarre and no one has ever heard of them before, at least in my friend circle. These delicious squares are most assuredly an East Coast thing – shout out to my beloved Maritimes! I grew up eating these during my summers, both homemade and bought from the local Co-Op grocery store. They are sweet and decadent and you definitely don’t need too many, but MAN are they good. If you are here for a butterscotch, peanut butter, marshmallow kind of party, then click on through to follow along! Continue reading “Peanut Butter Butterscotch Squares”
First things first. Throughout the entire writing of this post, I had Gwen Stefani’s “Hollaback Girl” stuck in my head. Because if you spell “bananas” out without singing that part of the song, then you’re a liar.
This is one of my favourite go-to healthy desserts. It’s especially interesting for me, because I hate yellow and spotted bananas. But this recipe? Deliciousness. Click on through to join me on this warm, caramelized, delicious adventure.

So my sister recently discovered this blog – apparently I forgot to tell her about it? I feel like maybe she had forgotten, but I won’t take it personally ahaha. My sister is an absolute Queen of Baking, and it’s been a long time since we’ve lived under the same roof and I could enjoy that fact via eating everything in sight. So today my sister decided to make these amazing blueberry pie bars by Averie Cooks – click on through to follow us on this delicious adventure.

I love chia seeds. They are so versatile and yummy and kick-you-in-the-pants healthy. I always make some kind of pudding or use them to thicken smoothies, my sister uses them to make drinks, a friend of mine uses them to replace eggs in certain recipes…VERSATILE. And today, we are making chia pudding. But not just any chia pudding. This chia pudding is creamy, chocolatey, sweet, and just SO good. And it’s good for you, too.

I’ve gotta say, I’m more of a savoury kind of girl, myself. But there is something about tart apples, spicy cinnamon, and flaky, delicious pie crust that I absolutely cannot resist. If you like apple pie, then you need to get your hands on these apple blossoms.
